Today I took the time to notice a special girl.

A girl who I have seen once before,

and deep down know.

Yet I never once took the time to give her a chance.

I blocked her with all that I have felt.

Never let anyone see her much as well,

but today I took the time.

I saw who she truly was,

and promised to give her life.

That girl loves to play pranks,

and laugh till she cries.

That girl is so outgoing, and alive,

that everyone loves her for it.

That girl is beautiful,smart,strong, and brave.

I can't believe I turned her down for so long.

She is so sweet and caring.

She'd do anyting to make someone smile.

Just today I saw that girl as she walked up to a stranger,

lonely in the street and handed him some money.

Oh how her heart filled when he smiled and thanked her.

That girl...what a character.

I finally realized today that girl.

The one who has goals and dreams.

So today as I looked in the mirror,

and noticed that girl I took down the shield,

that was hiding her all along,

and promised to let her be.
