[after reading some lines, 82-84, of Prudentius'
poem, Psychomachia]
Christ is the same as He has always been;
He is the same as He shall always be.
But He changed me, and saved my soul from sin.
His Death and Resurrection set me free
from shackles of my personality,
and penchant toward pervasive perfidy.
Seeking the Christian spirituality
in words from Early Christianity,
I praise my Savior in this poetry.
Though I have failed Him, He gives restoration
and blessing of the joy of His Salvation;
and to His Kingdom God grants me translation.
Let me remember, any time I pray:
He keeps me on the old paths and good way.
