Another Trumpet Aria, And We Got Through It

He is not affable or courteous:

his lack of couth is truly odious.

His habits are crude, and we should deplore 'em:

He fails, big, in presedential decorum.

God has brought us through

God has brought us through four years of testing, in order to improve the soul of this nation.  Because of the paradox of humanity, we have to sink low in order to rise high.  One of the things Trump ignores, and is devestatingly ignorant of, is History.  He reminds me of the ineptness of our final British king, George III, and is even more inept prime minister, Lord North, who, despite wielding enormous power---what was then the most extensive and formidable military machine then known to the world---demonstrated a distinct lack of empathetic understanding and of an arrogance which, despite Britain's parliamentary practices, still assumed a kind of "divine right."  I think Trump's attitude is an expression of the "divine right" which he thinks was bestowed upon him by the political Right (pun intended).  And, as that great historical anti-monarchist, the Poet John Milton, rightly observed from the Bible, God is particularly faithful to smack down kings (as in the Old Testament) who fail their people and their responsibilities.  I think the election, if it goes well, if every concerned citizen casts a vote, will reassign Donald the First to Donald the Last, and send him packing.  I heard, once, that, in each of Shakespeare's major plays, there is always a character who acts the part of the buffoon---and that is what Donald the Dim has been performing in his horrific reality show of the last four years.  The election needs to bring that show to its predestined end, using his own favorite words (which, apparently, his cabinet and staff hear repeatedly), "You're fired."
