At 1 Thessalonians 4:18

I do not know how soon my life will end;

only the Lord knows what date is assigned

to that.  So I will keep Him close in mind---

Savior, Redeemer, Lord, Teacher, and Friend---

that I may call upon Him in that hour

when Death cannot wreak its destructive power---

upon my soul.  To Christ's eternity,

I will be brought by angels (at least two);

and though my days remaining might be few,

I feel His Grace and Love comforting me.

Of the many of your re-works

Of the many of your re-works I have read, this is the most comforting. I have written words reflecting on my own demise, and the end of my time here. Death is our universal truth, and the Lord is our eternal salvation. Thank you for posting this.

And thank you for that

And thank you for that splendid compliment.  I am facing some dire, and possibly scary, medical issues this year; and the Lord reminded me of these verses, and gave me the poem with which to respond to them.  Thanks again for the read and the kind compliment.
