Poem With Declarative Premises

I commend the style of epic or epyllion---

though certain flaccid, flabby poets fear it---

because it speaks to cosmic yearning of the spirit.

Whereas the style called doggerel,

speaks enough to the decrepit soul

that, in self-pity, wallows

in the stagnant shallows

that pool in its uncharted hollows,

mostly empty and never even half full.

Truly enjoyed this

Truly enjoyed this thought-provoking, intelligent commentary only an accomplished student of literature could write, and yes, it's true cosmic minds  (you being one) would gravitate towards the epic style. A testament to your mastery of form and language.
