Battle With Yourself

I know  you better then you know yourself

I know for you it's not about power and wealth

I know  you do things from your heart

That your real right from the start

You ask how is it possible, that I, a nobody could know you

Oh but I do, more then you actually do

You ask Who am "I"

"I" am the one that with out me, you would die

You push me aside without looking back

But without me you'll never get back on track

You never listen to me, but I'll never go away

I'll taunt you and taunt you, I'm here to stay

Who are you? you yell

You don't even know yourself well

I'm the one who nags you time after time

Reminding you of your every crime

You cant out run me, I'm always here

I help you over come your biggest fear

I'm always with you, I'm never gone

I'll be with you from dusk til dawn

You'll never get rid of me

You cant run you cant flee

But with out me you'll never be

I can be your best friend  and your worst enemy

Can you guess who I am yet? think you know?

I am  your Conscience, I help you grow.

I can make you and break you

I am you through and through

I make you and you make me

We are one can't you see?

You and I will always be

Robin, Have read several of your poems - you have a wonderful way of expressing your feelings. Thanks for reading my poem 'Children', and leaving a comment. I am new to writing poetry so appreciated it. Will get back and read some more of yours another day.'Goodbye Opa' got to me as I lost my father just two years ago - wrote 'Butterflies remind me of Dad' recently. regards Shirley.
