You fashion ideas

as if they are the only ones

that can fit in your head.

shoving contingencies

into my ears

as if they belong there 

Somehow,

you think you hold rank in there 

lost that spark in my mind's eye

years ago.

living each day

to hush a tyrant in every corner

You'll find me

any which way but loose.

You think

you have little use for me 

an empty plastic bag full of air

dancing around aimlessly 

Any which way but loose 

I went to the ends of the earth 

I stayed grounded for years 

beat nearly all your twisted tricks 

Now I play dead. 

This is my greatest trick 

and revel to see you chase the nothing ness 

a ghost of what you once had in existence 

now you try to evade me

The one idea you let through 

and I watch you struggle 

any which way but loose
