It's 5am and I wrestle with sleep again
Another rematch lost in vain
Your the only Person In the crowd
Can't get my mind off
you letting me down.
I know there's more than excuses
And probably a million
good reasons why but,
The truth is it hurts like
Like a thousand horses
Stampeded through my heart
Lying in shock till the dust settled
And now nursing yet another pain
Isn't it enough I gave up the game?
I put you first and made it all sane,
I put logic into your heart,
compassion in your passion,
Love in your mind and placed
You back in the right line
All for you and what you couldn't see
Yes you were meant for me
And I for you but loves real
Triumph is growing inspite of
The harshest reasons
It transcends time and space
cultures and place and all else in between
We are two flowers in a vast desert
Who polinate love on the wind
One day that love will find us
But not this way that wrestles with my sleep
Soak up this pain with our good natured fun
And hold this tyrant, this pirate of sleep
With one gentle sorry caught in a glimpse
From the corner of my eyes.
