The wind cruelly echoes your name
as it whips past slapping hard my face
I speak of a thousand silent hopes and
beg forgiveness with a thousand silent prayers
I wish it gone I wish it back
Ive lost hours in hopeless dreams
And an eternity fighting your seductive call
Bring me back your fold
Hurl me forward away from your hold
I carry my own defense against cupids misguided arrows
I walk with my bow arched gracefully back,
Arrows of repent in my quiver stacked but hardly drawn.
kiss me just once
Stop!
Kiss me never.
On my lips an ache I hide
they for you will never divide
Kiss my cheek whisper in my ear
catch my breath
Your lips so near,
I want to turn for just a fraction
Lips dangerously close
husky voice sends shivers of
Harmonious quavers down my spine
Warm sweet air of breath taken
I freeze I take you in
drawing on you deeply
you fill my senses I weaken in my defenses
And reality bites hard sinking in
alarm bells ringing ruckus in my ears
Put the fire out! I blink.I snap. I slap hard your ardor
I turn to ice and steely I gaze through the cross hairs
I can't think the ground is too hard to swallow me
I look up and the shadow of you hits me
Fork in my tongue lies hidden words choked by
The fear of overwhelming desire consumed
Infused with your heady scent on me in my twilight zone
Flick the switch. And zapp you balk and call me
Down to my gallows where I cut out your heart
And made a peace offerering in burnt sacrifice
You are so good to me you hold your champion
Ways well. You care too much you feel so deeply
You haven't hit the bottom yet.
I drop. I stop. falls broken by ledges,
clinging and dragged I let go periodically
The cycle repeats though less often now because
You have a void to fill with other fine muses
And this cruelly confounds my confusion
I move in contorted shapes to manuever
My way into your scenic circle ever so casual,
Dancing on your trails sweeping other muses out
Youre in my sights I line you up in my cross hairs,
you catch me, you reach to pull
I want you to, you are not mine
but you are of mine still,
I cannot stay, you cannot go
Tearing round the roundabout like the old carousel
The grass is worn we've tread the path so well
Round and round catching up but never enough
Each time we part we break bread with our hearts
The nectar of our souls the mead of our sorrow
Let's turn towards the stars in hope and make a wish
That this will pass and this shall end
and our light will reach the the furthest point
Quenched of longing and selfish regret
Cleanse the want and fill our cups and
re acquire the tastes of ours, not ours.
And find peace and content away from
The claws of lust though this is never true
Because the strength in us to keep undestroyed
The lusty desires always secondary never arbitrary
as is love it is time again to renew those vows
Another aeon of almost nothings.
Sweet as they are your name turns to an echo
Once again i burn your heart fearfully in repent
and the wind whips across my jaw
Invoking prayers again...
I lament.
