A Dragonfly's View too...

I am rigid, segmented

translucent rainbow wings

Large red eyes, kaleidoscopic

views of coastal landscapes

 

They are soft, fuzzy, fluid

floating on the breeze

with ease as i fight

to hover at a standstill

 

Butterflies are lacy, dainty, pretty

something you'd want to land

on you.

Dragonflies are stiff, sharp, scary

something you'd want to swat,

to shoo.

 

She drinks the nectar of flowers

carrying love and pollen, making

feminine, intuitive patterns

along prairies, airy, nurturing.

 

WE zigzag, eating other insects

frightening agents of death

masculine, programmed, scattered

wandering decaying venues.

 

Complimentary aspects of the whole

she is light, welcoming, the wonder of the soul

I am dark, scary, what you don't want to know

Yin and yang, rock and roll.

 

Ultimately, we are both bugs

Life isn't always kisses and hugs

Thank you. Working on slowing down long enough to write words down. My life is evolving at almost break-neck speeds. Healing wounds physical, spiritual, and emotional... writing helps. I have some prose to post too.. Again thank you!

I love the imagery in your

I love the imagery in your works. Dragonflies though, as I see it, are beautiful creatures. I once had two dragonflies land on my third eye while I was meditating. Then after I came back they hung out for a while upon my shins. In fact, one of them wouldn't leave my side. After I stood up to walk back to the house, it landed on my shirt and went for the walk with me. At least part way. Then took off into the woods. Dragonflies represent illusion to me. And everytime I see one, it reminds me of the world of illusion. You know, this material world that we all think is real. Oh, but a cool world of illusion we all live in. Butterflies are cool too. Wish I saw more of them. Lots of dragonflies, not enough butterflies where I live. I sure don't see many anyway. But when I do, it is quite a treat.:)

Anyway, I do hope you continue to write. Your works are beautiful.
