Friends
Anger, fear, hurt and dreams
You shared it all with me
And I, in turn, revealed to you
A lifetime of misery
Together we formed a bond of love
That shall never be broken
When you are in need, I’ll be there
Before the words are spoken
The feelings that dwell within us
The moments that we shared
The need to understand it
You were the one who cared
We leaned upon each other
Rode the waves of social stress
We swam the ocean of life
Together, reached the crest
Crashing down on them we came
We are the victors my friend
The world is ours and always will be
Friends until the end
I love the line..........
we rode the waves of social stress......... that is just too good. Really enjoyed the poem. So often we allow our friends to go unappreciated or under appreciated. Am glad you stepped up for your friend. Keep writing and sharing as we poets love to write and keep reading.......... Sincerely, Melissa Lundeen.
