Thoughts From a Grave Thinker

There was a time

When the world

was bright

When every waking hour

Resulted in a smile

Or wink

There was a time

Where thoughts were not real

Nonexistent

So therefore

I did not think

I followed the tide

With uncanny pride

Not questioning

Who

Or

What

But now that time

Is long

Long

Gone

Leaving behind

Only ashes

And

Soot

There is now a time

Where the skies are dark

And every awful day

Results

In a screaming session

And every sky is a dreary grey

Now there is a time

Where father death

Has taken my soul

And I realize

Even carefree

Days
Of freedom

Come with a pricy toll

Author's Notes/Comments:

ONCE AGAIN pardon the lack of flow, I'm working on that. Also for the title, no pun intended.

Very nice.

I would say this is easily one of your best works so far! It flows well, rhymes where needed, and perfect conveys a heavy weight of emotion, nice work! :)

Спасибо! Я благодарю!

Hmm...

I highly appreciate the fact that this is one one of my least favorites and it's one of my best. Just goes to show how much I have going for me. THANKS you soiled my dreams AND lowered my expectations! ;)
