On a date, have you ever been called expensive?
Or have you been called cheap?
Maybe you've called someone that,
Did it make you start to weep?
Money shouldn't be the answer
Nor presents and or a gift
She should be something wonderful
She should be worth it.
Treat as if she's something special
Treat her like a princess
Make her your angel of music
Make her feel like a duchess
Worth it is what she should be
Nothing more or less
She is your life and love
Your princess
I really like this one. Especially the allusion to Phantom!
That is a beautiful poem. Let me know what book it is in.
Good poem Kelsey,
I found this while I was reading and figured it would help you find the guidance you think you need.
LOVE AFTER LOVE
The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was you self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart,
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desparate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your Life.
