Cycles

Over lifetimes

Bodies are broken

And put back together.

Again and again,

Wounds mend,

And scars tell the story of how.

The body speaks to the mind,

Scolding it for having been so reckless.

Reminding it every now and again

Not to make the same mistakes.

Souls are similar,

They can be broken, they heal,

And the scars remain.

The difference is bodies are temporary,

Vessels to carry souls through life,

Time capsules ever degrading.

While souls are forever.

So cherish your soul,

Keep it honest and pure.

In the next life you start

With what you left with in the last.

We'll just keep writing 'til there's nothing left to write.

We'll just keep waiting 'til they read all our works left to right.
