Belle

[Belle]

Yes I'm a lot like Belle,

want to get away from this world of hell.

I keep my nose stuck in a book,

I sing in public and people look.

People think I'm different it is true,

to me that seems like nothing new.

I've got my heart in the right place,

if you got to know me you would see it is the case.

I feel I'm pretty and smart,

I feel I've got a good heart.

Yet I've been treated not so great,

I wonder why I got this crap on my plate.

I need friends who will accept me,

If not then why do they want to be?

I deserve a man who will treat me right,

who will understand me and hold me with all his might.

My friends recoginize it all too well,

it's funny I'm so much like Belle.

Written in 2002. This poem is about me, but I put it in the reference of Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Very interesting poem. I am really amazed by all of your poetry. You excel in human understanding. All your work is thoughtful and beautiful As I remeber that classic Beauty and the Beast to be, Belle was exactly like that too... Hmmm... If you are Belle, I must be the beast, less the riches and magic.

Everyone deserves the best in the world. That is all we have to offer. Why would cheat someone out of that? I think your poem is wonderfully written.
