Tears

Silver stars glisten in the midnight sky
Silver tears sparkle in her eyes
Flowing down her pale face,
They leave a shining trail in their place
Looking at the moon she sighs
Wishing she could end it all that she could die
She makes a wish upon a star;
A wish for something oh so far
She holds it close then lets it go
Set afloat on a cloud of gold
Longing is written upon this cloud,
Along with her every fear and doubt
Her tears fall silently upon her hands
The hours quickly flow by, as smooth as sand
She stays sitting up at her desk all night
The silver tears ever blurring her sight
She sits there writing all her pain
Her tears falling upon the page leaving a stain
As the sun touches the sky,
She gets up and lets out a sigh
She holds back the pain with all her might,
Knowing she must hide it all from sight
Because as the dawn breaks across the sky
She can't show anyone the pain--her inner self must die.
