I came to your town empty hearted,
I had learned my lesson in love.
No one would ever fill the spaces,
Of someone who fit me like a glove.
Then, I met you for a second,
And something moved me inside.
Those empty spaces seemed to fill again,
Calling to you, they opened wide.
My chances were one in a million,
My hopes were a thousand to one.
My dreams had your love in my pocket,
But reality left me with none.
I settled for only your friendship,
Though I wanted so very much more.
You will always have my true love,
Until you're ready to open up the door.
I found this very mature and well-worded for a teenager to have written. I think we all have the same feelings at times. Some of us admit it and some of us don't. You did a lovely job with this one.
