[To the Poet, Snails]
Not just enterainers, but poets and scholars enjoyed the trim
and coy appearance and shelter of a singular mononymn.
I have acquired some proofs---this is not just a wishful whim
of mine, that only the imagination gathers and carries:
in that antiquarian magazine, entitled Notes And Queries.

Author's Notes/Comments:
I was able to find copies of the magazine noted from the mid-nineteenth century. The magazine provided a kind of pre-internet message board for antiquarian---they seem to be largely amateurs---scholars to discuss questions of history, geography and literature. A good amount of Celtic lore appears to be included. The use of mononyms is quite interesting in those pages.

Thanks for the delightful dedication.
The fact a poem is made for me fills
me with a great and boundless glee.
