I wondered for months what you'd looked like,

But I got to see you first;

And that's all that matters to me.

Many times I wondered what you'd sound like,

But I got to hear you first;

And that's all that matters to me.



I was the one that turned you from

A part of your mother to a part of your own.

I held you for the first time,

And it felt as if nothing mattered but you.

I want to thank you for your presence in my life.



We walked down the hall,

And I pressed the button

To play a melody to represent your life.

And I felt the stinging tears enter my eyes

When I realized you were really here, you were born.



You grew so fast, so strong and so curious,

And I hoped I could keep up with you.

Out of nowhere you started to look around,

And I couldn't help but smile!



You knew so much, so smart and so independant,

And I hoped I could keep track of you.

Out of nowhere you started to roll over,

And I couldn't help but laugh!



You'd cry so loudly, so sad and so alone,

And I hoped I could help you sleep.

Out of nowhere you would close your eyes

And I couldn't help but stroke your face!



You smiled alot, so often and so care free,

And I hoped I could join you.

Out of nowhere you started to crawl,

And I couldn't help but rejoyce!



You developed a personality, so happy and so intellegent,

And I hoped I could see more.

Out of nowhere you started to know things,

And I couldn't help but to cry!



Out of any certain solitary soul

You help me become my own.

And I can't wait till the day you comprehend

How precious you are to me.



Out of anyone I will ever know

You helped me become my own.

And I can't wait till the day I can

Return the favor to you.

I will be here, always for you.

I am forever in your debt
