I sit and ponder on the gift of love you gave so generously
How freely it flows, and yet how tenderly it reaches out to me
A love that renews my mind and my soul setting both free
My thoughts wander aimlessly to the glory that it bestows
Upon this mortal woman, who was born for immortality
This love is a mystery, given to I, who deserves it not
Winding its way into a lost and lonely heart here inside
Touching places hidden and bringing to them a liberty
Giving life and bringing peace, a love whose gift is free
So underserved, but craved by this needy, wanting woman
I sit and contemplate upon the sacrifices that love asks
It calls for unselfish giving, and a seemingly selfless living
A cost that is not to be asked, a debt that cannot be paid
This woman born to die, yet because of this love will live
Love so amazing so divine, demands all that I can give
Mysterious it is, and beyond all human understanding
For nothing was withheld, and more cannot be asked
A love that shines it blinding light within the darkness’s
Shall lead the way and I had ought to follow in its path
For who can fathom this love, that was given to this woman
It can be a challenge to give and receive love.
