The days of my childhood last forever
Days I can ponder on the rest of my life
Of memories sweet that are hard to beat
Of brothers and sisters that are now far
A thought that dwells and comes alive
When I sit and dream of days gone bye
The days of my childhood so full of joy
Memories that come once more to the fore
Thoughts of laughter and games we played
A togetherness we shared a tie unbroken
A bond that so strong can never be lost
As we travel this land both near and far
The days of my childhood live with me still
As I look back and think of the things we did
Often apart but always together in our heart
Memories of christmas and of easter sermons
Girls in pretty dresses and boys in smart suits
Of snow and of rain and bright sunny days
The days of my childhood will never depart
My brothers and sisters all close to my heart
Nothing can seperate us from each other
No Ocean, Land or person come what may
The bond that is between us can ne'er stray
For Blood is the tie that draws us together
The days of my childhood are days supreme
Where with brothers and sisters I dare dream
A closeness attained as days they did wain
For when one was needed the other came
A brother to fight the battles for you
A sister to cry with who was so true
A wonderful feel-good poem, with charming snapshots of your childhood. I especially love the first line repetition.

A very nice poem. My brothers and sisters are all far away from me too and I miss them. You are right..family is the most important thing in the world.
Hi Sasha I envy the closeness you wrote about in this poem. Family are so special and the way you feel came across so clearly... very beautiful poem.. thanks for sharing. Roz :)
