for Catherine
Opened
all four chambers
-wide open,
offered the keys
as tribute,
welcomed your
Samsonites w/both
arms,
poured my soul
into your
upturned hands
even as some
of it
doused your feet.
Your smile
spoke of trust
to hold such
a priceless fluid.
I begged you
to drink,
ingest, consume
the spicy liquid,
let it fill
your senses,
your mind,
quench all
of you. I did
this purely,
completely.
Eventually,
my soul dribbled
through your fingers
to wash away
in puddles and streams
from yesterday’s
evening storm.
There's a wealth of emotion in this piece, I loved it.
I'm sure to return and read more.
