True Colors

Racked  w/a

foaming-at-the-mouth

bitter taint of

political phlegm

and 2nd hand

racial unrest,

   I’m rendered

mentally impotent,

socially stymied

to score

     w/Mistress Peace-and-Prosper.

Hence my irritation

and frustration

at a government

too involved in games

to see the strife

        and starvation

for the greenbacks.

So, the line forms

here for anyone

ready to stand against

those congressional cronies

      who’ve failed

we, the people.

We, the disillusioned

nation of fiscal sense

require,

expect,

     demand an end to

the duality

and paranoia

inflicted

and dumped on

     we, the human race.

I'm certainly not all in to politics... I think for the most part they are liars.

I like this poem. You are speaking out and I respect that. I like the 'look' of the poem and the flow. ~Melissa

You have a clear hard-hitting style that keeps context and delivers a message. Descisive work.
