The Darkness

Remnants

Staring out into the darkness
As the cold comes crashing in
The part that seems the hardest
Is not knowing what we could've been

I'm pulling back the pieces
That you left floating in the wind
Not sure that I still need this
As your memory sinks in

Staring out into the darkness
As the cold comes crashing in
I know this love means far less
Than you ever thought it did

It always meant much more to me
And I could never really make you see
That everything I did, and said
Was to love you every chance I get
But it never meant that much to you
So, I know that I can make it through
Because without you I can see the light
Knowing I was never on your mind

So, I'm
Staring out into the cold
Wishing upon the stars
I face this night alone
Holding the remnants of my heart

Because I gave you everything I had to give
And you just felt compelled to take all of it
And run way to find something that made more sense to you
You left me standing in the rain, with no clue what to do
All I needed was a little time
To push you from my mind

I stare out into the darkness
And the cold comes crashing in
Now, my memories are frozen
And they're soon to be forgotten
Now, the part that's hardest
Is seeing you come back again
Pulling out the memories
You think I should relive

But, I'm staring at this darkness
As the cold comes crashing in
Because I know that you're the farthest
From the happy I needed

So, stare with me, at the darkness
And think of what you did
You'll find that you mean far less
Than you ever thought I meant

Staring at the darkness, Not

Staring at the darkness,

Not an image to recall,

Now that all the pictures have been

Taken from the wall,

Underneath a silver lining

Never seen before,

Bitch you weren't nuthin'

But a mother fuckin' whore.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
