There was no time I visited Monterrey without going to my Great Uncle’s ranch. This place is full of magic and fun, but only if you want to see it that way. Oh, we did so many activities in my great uncle’s ranch. For me this was more than a ranch, it was sometimes a tribe, or a nation, a soccer stadium, or any other place that my imagination could have imagined, but for sure, it was always the place where I could find my great uncle. As long as I remember I have memories from this place. It all starts by driving one hour until we arrive, and every time, we are received by the dogs. This dogs are not normal dogs, I’m talking about gigantic great danes dogs who keep the ranch secure. My great uncle always made his special grilled barbecue. Oh, everyone loved this food, even the dogs ate with us. There is a big river that passes just aside the ranch, we always went there to swim and do rafting. And I can remember my great uncle sitting in the riverbank with his dogs, making sure we were all fine. We had so much fun riding the motorcycles and other vehicles, my great uncle was a fan of cars, he always had a different truck with him, sometimes a Jeep, sometimes a Hummer and many others. We played all night board games inside the beautiful house while we watched the stars, and even better, we told horror stories. This place can't be called a ranch without animals, we played with the horses and the deer, some years ago you could even count more than 20 deer. Sadly, it has not been the same for some months, my great uncle has left us. This ranch called the Ranch ‘las cuatro garzas’ is one of the only things we have left from him. All his other belongings are now gone, but the ranch is still with us. Selling this place would be like selling my great uncle, who would sell a family member? During the last months many animals have died, some people say my great uncle is taking them with him, others say the animals miss him to much that they die of sadness, who could know the truth? But I, myself, am only certain of one thing, when I go to my great uncle’s ranch, I can feel him, I feel his energy and enthusiasm he had about the place. Now a days, for me, this ranch is a synonym of my great uncle.
