Outside, the raindrops fall on the leaves
Rivulets forming patterns on my windowpane.
The night wind whispers through the trees,
Enhancing the symphony of the rain.
As a watery moon floats slowly by
On a raft of silver-coated clouds
Thoughts of you evoke a sigh...
Dreams I dare not speak aloud.
Restlessness stirs within my breast,
A relentless, endless, aching need.
A seething fire by love possessed.
Missing you so much, I can hardly breathe.
Outside, the raindrops fall on the leaves...
Sometimes the pain of missing a lover you will not see again is crippling and all-consuming ... been there, done that. I think this piece describes this feeling neatly.
