It was like listening to music

It was like listening to music whenever she purred.

It was one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard.

I treasured all of the times she purred before.

But when I woke up yesterday, she wasn't purring anymore.

It was the day that all pet owners dread.

Tears came to my eyes because I knew she was dead.

As I buried her, it finally dawned on me that it's the end.

My heart is broken because I've lost my best friend.

This is a sad poem, and I was wondering, is it true?

I think this is beautiful and I love cats. I can relate to it especially when my cat Midnight was put down because she had arthritus so bad she couldn't function. The thing I will never forget is I brought her in a box to the vet and as I passed her through the window with her last ounce of energy she pulled herself up with two paws over the box and looked at me and meowed then fell back in the box. I had nightmares for a long time after that, but she just could not get around anymore and could not control bowels so it was the humane thing to do.It still brings tears to my eyes when I think about it..
