I think I understand hatred now
I think I understand that
it happens when people feel small
Which sounds like an after school special
But it's really true
Hateful people feel small
They feel threatened
Presumably because

The connection is so obvious
That it cannot be right
Surely it can't be
That simple.
Well

But I do think it's true, after all
People feel hatred
Because they feel small
There is a lot of wisdom in
There is a lot of wisdom in this poem.
