So after going through a day's ups
& downs in just the last hour,
things are halted again with a hand...
WHAT IF... this delay in your day was meant
to occur, what if this ONE minute was meant
just for you, for the two of you
to share in and either make another
impression on each other or to let pass
you by, only to wish for the moment back
years later... ONE minute in 1 life!!
He caught the elevator, just in time,
he knows this elevator takes its time to get
back down and the stairs were not on his mind,
not after the bad luck he had today.
The door slowly opens and... it’s her,
What are the chances that she would be here,
in his elevator, in his building...
He stood there dumbfounded until the door closed on
his shoulder and he had to come in, isolated from
the world & boxed in with whom consumed is mind.
She was two minutes from lying on her bed,
phoning her girl to tell her of her day,
when someone couldn't wait for the next elevator
to come and decided to prolong her misery.
The door slowly opens and... its him,
How quickly her expression changes on her face
and went from a face of gloom to a face of invitation
as3 she welcomes him into the elevator.
Being the one closet to the buttons and him sharing in
her shock, she makes the first move & asks "which floor?"
What comes next is shared by them, but I will
tell you this, they arranged to meet later on
that evening, on the ground floor where they
will share the walk they missed earlier,
to the subway, where it all started...
So as every story has an ending,
so must this tale of 2 souls
riding the everyday rails of life.
This story will not continue on
paper, but it may always continue on
in the back of your mind, where
you can choose which stops they make,
together or not, and also to which floor
their endless love will elevate to...
