This is a tale of love
starring a man whos heart burns
& a woman who can put it out.
Things are seen in black & white
and all shades of grey but the love
they shared, filled their lives full of colors.
Like the keys on a piano, they were meant
to be beside each other, side 2 side
creating notes of love that
volume can not control.
Like love of old, classic,
souls connected as 1, prevailing
through time on an endless journey.
U only get a few great girls in your life,
hopefully you're the last,
don't look no further
Dear Kenny,
"U only get a few great girls in your life,
hopefully you're the last,
don't look no further"
I enjoyed that a bit a lot. You tend to use a lot of similes; I like that. It creates lots of visuals in the reader's mind's eye. The ending is a bit abrupt, I think further elaboration would have made this poem ten times better but it is a great poem to start with so no worries.
Good work Kenny. Thanks for the critique on "Afterglow" and hey, Montreal is beautiful city with beautiful people. I have been there once and would love to go to Concordia. I might. Who knows? Maybe we could meet up and do some spoken-word when I visit. Are there any decent spoken-word cafes in ol' MOntreal?
Respectively,
