Metaphorically speaking,
Within your eyes I see you reaching…
Out to my hand for a touch in return
The thoughts of you and I continue to burn…
Deep within because of the truths we both hold –
You have a man and it’s understandable
Although we both know it’s only circumstantial
See, you’re a “Poetry Girl”
With jazzy essence and all –
Cocoa-butter body,
Mocha chocolate candy bar…
I stand afar to prevent from intervening with destiny,
But I must admit
The glares we’ve shared completely compels the best of me,
While the fantasy of you and me alone
Overwhelms the rest of me
Come with me to this secret place
And engage in slow walks, and talks…
About how gently I want to stroke your face…
But I must take a step back and see truth for who “he” is
And his reflection has none of my features
So instead of pursuing you like I want to
I’ll just continue to send my stare
Until mutuality reaches you
