today is the day
I miss her the most
before in the past
I'd 'least see her ghost
but now that she's taken
her picture and gone
I'm left all alone
to conjure this song
today is the day
my tears need to stop
but floodgates are open
and I need a mop
now that she's taken
her picture away
the tears they cascade
in empty displays
today is the day
I'm more than forlorn
modelin' a maudlin
appearance I've worn
time and again
when she's out of sight
I put on a smile
that doesn't seem right
today is the day
my heart's emptiness
begs for her comfort
to combat distress
but she's even taken
her picture with her
will she return it?
I'm not even sure
today is the day
my torment's revealed
a day for real crying
that doesn't seem real
my fear is distorted
and some would say twisted
but where is the proof
she even existed?
I love this - the way it rhymes and the message in it. This is fu*kin' awesome. Emotional in the sense that it seems emotionless... great stuff.
