You Didn't See

You didn’t see me smiling,

The day you walked away

You didn’t see me laughing

When you said you’d never stay

You didn’t see me jump for joy

When you said you felt no love

You barely saw me smiling

When you were brought down from ‘above’

I didn’t see your scheming

Didn’t know what you had planned

Didn’t know that you were lying

When you took me by the hand

You didn’t feel the absence

Of those three words from the start

But I know that they didn’t leave your lips

‘Cause they were never in your heart

You say you never saw the hurt

With which you poisoned me

But all the while, we both knew

We were never meant to be.

I can't believe I didn't already critique this poem. It's an amazing write. It has depth, evoked emotions, passion, fury, and talent. This is in my opinion one of your best pieces. Keep writing and sending them to me. Love you as a friend, Karyn

Terri,

This is a beautiful piece of writing.
The heartache is evident, yet you show your strength and understanding so clearly by accknowledging the fact he never really knew what love was.Or what he was missing in your love.
