You say you love me.
Is this true?
Do you honestly love me to the point that if it came down to it, you’d die for me?
Do you love me enough to just sit and hold me when I needed to cry?
Do you love me enough to leave me alone when you know I need space?
You say you love me.
Is this true?
Can you look me in the eye and say that I mean the world to you?
Can you hear my thoughts when I can’t find the words to say them?
Can you feel my heart beating when you are near me?
You say you love me.
Is this true?
Should I believe what you are saying?
Should I put all of my inhibitions aside and just follow you?
Should I let my guard down, trust you, and fall head over heels in love?
You say you love me.
I know it’s not true.
I’ve been around others that have said the same.
I’ve had my heart broken by others just like you before.
Now please go away before I love you too.

I don't know if this was spoken word or more of a letter, but none the less...I liked it. Especially the last line.
I know this feeling too well. Unfortuntaley, I didn't listen to that last line. And in the end, I was hurt. Beautiful piece.
I think that in poetry we should be able to tell a story with as few words as possible, and with that said; Good job. I think that we all have had those same question at one point in our live's, or at least I know I have....
