Chemical Ecstasy

He promised her everything;
she surrendered her innocence.

She jeopardized her life,
while he quietly dimmed the lights.

She lied, cheated, and stole.
Self-reflection became her pain.

He would whisper in her ear,
telling her there was so much more to gain.

She needed him to sleep.
She needed him to wake.

He consumed her completely,
make no mistake.

She the host,
he the parasite.

Her veins running dry,
his grip growing weak.

A choice had to be made.

She had to live,
so he had to die.

Beware the things you cannot see
when you're in a relationship
with Chemical Ecstasy.
