Waiting
If I should have to put up with this,
Of waiting again for this selfish bitch,
I think I should just end it there,
And never again be thrown into care.
She lies about as if the world owed her,
And completes the phrase ‘Tis human to err…,”
And smokes and drinks as if the world ends tonight,
And again makes me wait to grant a read when I write.
Though she has the cutest smile of all,
And helps me up when I do fall,
And carts me about to where I must go,
And gives me the loving that lovers do know.
But sometimes it does take true grit,
To continue to put up with it,
The verbal abuse and continual drone,
That makes me crave to be alone.
Yet above all else I see a girl,
Who has battled a cruel and embittered world,
And with nobility and damn good cheer,
Has made my love for her quite dear.
I can't believe no one commented on this before. Isn't it a shame Richety how people overlook the greatest things, even if they are right in front of them. I could have guessed who this was for without the comment at then end, but I suppose that's what you and I can do for each other... know what the other is talking about without even saying a word. Thank you for sharing this with the rest of us, that is all I can really say. :)
