I cherish the moving ending to
this poem because it strikes
a chord in some deeper part
of me...
And in many ways the lines
here explains, in a short
consciousness, the reality
of the human predicament
within relationships, etc...
And the sooner one realizes
the futility of stubornly
remaining where one does
not belong to, the more
fruitful and peaceful will
one's earthly walk be...
May God almighty gracefully
grant us the mustard seed
wisdom to discover and be
where we belong!
Oh Tricia, What a powerful printed thought, full of pain and anguish. What we suffer for pleasure if we have a conscience. I love the line,"I cry beyond my tears". Such agony! I hope that expressing this pain in print has helped to exorcize it. Wonderful poetry . Fleur :)
I find this poem has so much within its words, Tricia. Life was never meant to be easy, I guess. You have had your share of unsettling, uneasy situations in your poems. I cry for you in your sadness. I only hope your life becomes full with love and laughter. Good luck to you, Tricia. Linda
hhhhmmm.. somehow, in contrast to Why Must U Leave, i find the length of this poem quite appropriate enough...the brevity of this poem is sufficient to portray the doubtfulness (and yet hopefulness) of the persona...and the ending lines lend a nice touch of mystery, intrigue and wonder for the reader...as if it is meant to suggest a subjective ending for each individual reader.... Interesting... and quite a way with the rhyming scheme too, tricia. Smilesz.
