A Gift of Prayer

I prayed a prayer today,

I saw you across the room,

Your eyes belied the smile and laugh,

I could feel the sense of gloom.

You were laughing and talking,

But your eyes showed fear,

I couldn’t fix your problem at all,

And you showed a smile, not a tear.

I cannot help you at all.

If you won’t let me in.

But I can lift you up in prayer,

Ask the Holy Spirit, a healing to begin.

So a prayer IS what I give you.

And if truth be told,

That is the best help I can offer

To keep your heart from growing cold.

A prayer I prayed today.

My heart broke for your pain.

I know that Jesus will touch your soul.

And will give you joy, to rejoice again.

I really liked this poem - there is no better gift to give other then a prayer. :O)
