DAUNTING TASK

DAUNTING TASK

The sprawling land and out-stretched water,

Look so great with huge trees and plants;

The volcanic mountains made out of lava,

Erupted from beneath and designed the earth.

The worldly beasts and amphibians of variety,

Show the flora and fauna; their immense nicety!

No doubt, man finds oneness with nature;

But his impudence makes him so impish.

Man can’t desist from making his own downfall,

For he is over-ambitious and ambivalent;

In dribs and drabs, he disfigures the lovely planet;

Not knowing, his acts desolate all good things on earth.

It isn’t that easy, to ward of the danger;

For the earth is encumbered with too many ailments;

It’s a daunting task to replenish the environment;

For man has already created his own death-trap.

Man’s haste makes him search and research;

He isn’t bothered about viable solutions, but instant cure;

No matter, what the after effects are; and the risky future;

He’s just inclined to see off his life and not the future ones!

Author's Notes/Comments:

Man's over ambitious attitude makes him forget the future of humankind.  As he is bothered only about himself, he destroys the environment.

I got to be thankful for your understandable reading of the poem 'Daunting Task' No doubt, we understand humanbeings' misreading of the creater and his creations.  Nevertheless, it goes without saying, Man is  selfish and hence the neglect.
