SINKING SOUL
It’s for you, I write, with all my soul and heart,
So much to say; so much to cry;
But, not to cry anymore,
Yet I write to you.
I had never, never been like this before,
But, today, Oh, Yea! I am lost!
My legs are wearied; my hands are tied;
My body is tired; my hope is lost;
Oh! I feel very weak in me, in this tiresome world.
My heart is broken; my soul is lost;
What else I have to lose, nothing but life?
You feel very weak when you are sick;
But, I feel very weak when I sink;
Never think of anything that affects you,
Because it makes you sink!
Like a sinking ship I sink,
Looking for the help I think;
Will I be out of these troubles?
Or, I sink with it forever.
Things happen as they like; not asking how we like!
Kills the peace of everyone; kills the mind of everyone.
Oh! I don’t know what happened, to a man like me;
Indulging in some affairs? Oh! Yea, it’s true;
It’s a heart-breaking affair!
Oh! God Almighty, I pray unto thee;
Stretch your arms and lift me up;
For I want to live a happy life.
Like a bird I fly, flying high up in the air;
Like a bird I sing, with all its meaningless words;
Like a ‘Man’ I die, with all a meaningful life!
Oh my goodness, there is so
Oh my goodness, there is so much feeling in this. Very emotional and genuine.
...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."
"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
Reply to comment on my poem 'Sinking soul'
I don't know how you find time to read so many poems written by so many writers. You should be a lady of great patience I suppose. I started off writing a letter and ended up in writing a poem of this sort. Thanks a lot for reading and commenting on this. What else to say other than this. I have written so many poems but trying to post those poems just one after the other. Most of these poems I happened to put down in writing while experiencing feelings of joy and pain. Just watch for my poem 'You are quite brilliant, My lady'!
Thanks again. Though I am not a great reader, I promise you that I'd read your poems.
