PITFALLS

PITFALLS

Over stayed dew had its toll,

Breaks its slumber on its own;

Time for sun to cast its clock,

Wakes and takes a casual glance.

The dawn that breaks its overnight rest

Wishes each one the ‘Morning’ wish!

The birds that start chirping around;

Makes the morn a happy ground.

Shimmering dews begin to smile;

As if it’s a transient guile.

They knew, they have overstayed

To pave the way for the day.

The Sun now on its usual stroll

Cast its light that throws up life;

Here and there it sees the mist

The ‘Misty Life’ that’s on Earth.

However radiant be;

Magnificent its smile may be;

The failure to light all hearts

Makes it fall down the sky!

The Sun now in its watery bed

Saddened by the life on Earth

Sheds the tears, that rolls on cheeks

Appoints the Moon for the night.

The Moon now takes the reign of night,

Peers on Earth with hazy light;

The shortcomings of human at night;

Makes it have a broken heart.

The Sun and Moon ponder a while;

Decides on God’s venture a while!

‘Coz, they knew the might of God

To restore parity on Earth.

Author's Notes/Comments:

The title of the poem and the poem itself, makes one think of the shortcomings of human beings at day and night; and how Sun and Moon which happen to witness the bad doings of man decide to hand over the charge of taking care of human beings to God to restore parity on Earth.  Hence the title 'PITFALLS'.
