The Simple Truth

Folder:
First

The simple truth,

Is just stupid,
It is nonsense!

But, it works...

Somehow it does.

Today and tomorrow,

As time goes,

As it dwindles,

 As it stops,

And Man?

You ask?

"why then?"

"Is it simple?"

Stop asking questions!

That are not,

So very simple,

So very true,

And happily so...

We ask too much.

And are unworthy.

To know more,

Than what is.

So very simple,

And very elegant,

That it repeats,

It is more,

Than it's self,

More than twice.

Exactly trice,

But not more,

And not exact.

For it does brake.

It always does again.

Therefore it does,

But does it?

Do simply anything.

Random or not,

Quite simply put,

The simple truth.

Lol, sorry, I meant that what

Lol, sorry, I meant that what I took from this work of yours is that it takes a lot to make things simple!  There's no work by another, just the realisation I get about simplicity that was affirmed by your great little piece :) sorry for the lack of clarity in my response :) hugss

Yes. I tend to agree that

Yes. I tend to agree that when we are able to accept that we will know (or not know) things in time with the universe, and not in our own selfish desires to, is when we begin to live a truly authentic life. I've read some of your stuff, and I think you could have made this poem more alluring than what you did, but I like the boldness of the subject matter. You also expressit bravely and boldly, and I like that. ~peace~

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

It's been a while.

I wrote this poem a while back, the object of it was to make it as short as possible to show the beauty of simplicity. For example 4, 3, 2 words per line, braking or making patterns whenever I wanted to stress something or change subject. Thanks for the feedback!

It's hard for us to stop

It's hard for us to stop asking not-so-simple questions. I think humans were programmed that way. We constantly ask why, how, when, where, etc. We want to know more, imagine if we couldn't. I think we would all go crazy. Not knowing. Is the simple truth so very simple? or is it more complicated it appears to be? but simplicity, i think, is quite pleasant. so let's hope that it really is simple.

this was a nice poem. i liked it.

It is hard to do anything if you put enough thought into it.

Thanks, i'm glad that you like it. I like to think that things are made up of small simple things and that we are all just a bit crazy.

iwonderwho's picture

ohmigosh, that's exactly what

ohmigosh, that's exactly what i've been going on about at school for the past year! i'm glad someone else shares my opinion on that! that we're all crazy, just a little, and some more than others. and if there was a person that was completely normal i don't think anyone would befriend them because that would make them alienated, right, being normal, but then we would befriend them because by being normal they're being a little crazy. i'm one of the types that i think i'm more crazy than the normal craziness, but less crazy than the craziness that will make my parents lock me up in a mental hospital.

The idea of normality is a funny thing.

It's possible we all think a certain way, unique to each individual, but I dislike the idea of normality because it puts pressure on people to change themselves to gain acceptance from others. The idea of normality also establishes a standard that some of us can't live up to because it is just plain boring!

well said. i never looked at

well said. i never looked at normalness that way before. good point of view.

So what do you do when being

So what do you do  when being different is normal? ;p lol! Tricky eh?

Our humanity,

I like that we are inherently social creatures, we worry to much about what other people perceive of us or about how we perceive what other people think about us. I take comfort in the fact that no two things are the same, even "identical" objects differ slightly in their structure and absolutely in their position in the universe and time. Thus one can always be unique even if he/she is not perceived as being so, it is ultimately up to the individual to captivate his or her abilities and pecularities.

I like your response it felt

I like your response it felt like it came form my own mind! Kudos

hmmm. i wouldn't do anything.

hmmm. i wouldn't do anything. i would stay the way i am. and i would love that, if being different was what everyone liked. that way i don't think people would judge, maybe they would have more open minds, and everyone would each have their own unique make-up, and no one would feel pressured to fit in or change themselves to fit in with the crowd.

so, i can't believe i'm saying i wouldn't mind if something was normal, but if being different was normal, i think that would be okay. because then the idea of normality wouldn't be so pressurizing and what not.

SSmoothie's picture

True, good points, but in

True, good points, but in being different for the notion to be truly true you will have close minded people and or opinions these are where the tricky parts start everyone haveing the same open mind would go directly against accepting difference as normal.  Normal. Its an ugly word, designed to make you feel as if you don't fit in in some way or other by a set of tastes. Blach! Tastes bad! ;) hugss
