oh how I'll miss
that mother wit voice
and so today I just learned
that caged yet enchanted bird
so aged yet authentic
in her beauty and regard
was alas
allowed to sing free
across her many lines
of wisdom she soared to fly
and solo she has without wings
from former flesh and breath
she was able to flee
a veritable world
she left behind
for this flawed dimension
filled with love and all
her sympathetic poetry
from meadows of larks
and service of the soul
her history she selflessly
extolled
of birds and bees and chattering
trees
her wonder she wove
with her lovely proud African ease
the world lost its admirer and champion
today
an honest wise loving elder
that even the president of the free world
sought for advice and spiritual guidance
at home in our hearts she will with
her abundance of words forever remain
a patron of love
a conductress of all good things
goodnight Madame Courage
I'll see you that first morning of
my own soul's spring...............

Author's Notes/Comments:
All day long I have thought of her since I read of her death this morning.........These words are my own heart influenced as it was by her opening up to speak............May God rest her amazing soul.............
Sad day for poetry
This news was shocking a great poet now gone but not forgotten. Also great poem love it.
If your heart is not 100% in it then you're not fully committed!
