in companionable thought
you come to sit beside me
a luminous lark of visions warm
wearing veils of easily removed mystery
so passionately quiet and deeply self rooted
a calm lone beloved man
seeing out from a place where others
can or choose to see only in
proud doesn't know the half of this you
that I've come to be so happily acquainted to
your presence brings me joy
even without a face to rest my curious eyes upon
but that's just vanity's wish talking in my head
your smile though I feel is a beacon
to those who need its beam
you honor me with this generous opportunity to
get to know you better
an atestament to your spirit's admirable grain
I promise you whole heartedly here and now
not to squander such selfless present
but keep close in your mind
that sometimes the so lavishly wrapped gift
can elude even its giver
until the box itself is completely opened
we both must remain fully aware of this fact
and though this is not a love poem
the like you may have wished to receive
still
its an honest confession from a gentle true
heart
one loving soul's words reaching out to another
AN ALTERNATIVE AWAKENING
one might even say
some sorrow even perhaps it can help to aleve
a heart felt Thank You dearest emotionally
generous William Paul
for drawing me so warmly into your lovely
glowing firesides flame
through these very words I embrace you in
glorious awe!

very nice. I've enjoyed reading some of your poems and will return again to indulge myself.
