I've never been one to feel afraid,

Never needed to be dismayed,

Forgive me if this sounds cliched,

But you make me fearful.



Because there's so much that could happen to you.

And there's so much that I can't control.

And there's so many things that I wish I could do,

And there's so many thoughts I withhold.



I don't know what I'm supposed to be to you,

And I've got no damn idea how to act. :o)

But still I just love being with you,

And we're still close and I'm happy with that.



Cuz I want to be the hero you run to,

And to be the one that you'll always come to.

And my dear, if you would just let me get through,

Then I promise I'll always protect you.



And I want to keep you safe from your pain,

And I want to dance with you in the rain.

And then if that rain starts to storm,

Then I want to hold you safe in my arms.



But I'm still not sure how to react.

So forgive me if I seem attracted to you,

I'm a little confused how to act, what to do,

Please be patient, and help me get through.
