For twelve days straight the rain has come
And I am going mad!
I’ve quite caught up on household chores,
Through rooms my bare feet pad.
My flower garden stands so tall,
That I am proud as punch.
But I need sun to pull the weeds
Now growing in a bunch.
I finished one new painting now,
And almost finished two.
But cabin fever gets me down,
I’m restless and I’m blue.
I’ve read three books. The cable’s down.
No Internet for me.
When finally I post my work,
So many “new” I’ll see!
We need the rain. Well water’s low,
But I just need some sun.
For one short hour I’ll soak it up,
Before again I run.
For twelve days straight the rain has come,
And I have had enough.
I’m ready for a little break.
These rainy days are rough.
There's only one thing they're good for,
I think you understand.
But goodness knows, I must be old,
Mud pies mess up my hands.
Hey cobber, see you are still writing, great to see.
Loved this one, cause we haven't had rain for so long, the trees are chasing the dogs.
Stay well, alf
Mud pies, indeed. I'm sure you can think of better things to do on a rainy day that aren't already on that list. So, now we know. Your absence was all due to some nasty weather. Well, blue skies to you Jessica, we missed you here.
