I live alone in the rural South,
As country as ham and grits.
On a country road, in a country woods,
As country as anything gits.
I never thought the seclusion,
Was so lonely on my lot,
Until I bought my computer
And the internet I got.
Penpal sites, and poetry halls,
And email now and again,
My country self was kickin' high
With internet buddies and friends.
I found Tricia, and Spanky, and Razor,
And Gary and Butch, Linda too.
Then there is John in Houston,
Also Helen, to name a few.
But the luckiest day in my life I guess
Was the day I came across Jim.
He has proven to be my very best friend.
And I've fallen in love with him.
Critiquing buddies and regular pals
Give my life a definite thrill.
I love to write and to read others' work,
And I know that I always will.
So thank you, dear Jason, for all you've done
To give me a chance to express
All the feelings inside that I buried so long
Indeed! I truly am blessed!
