Who knew that when I'd given up
I'd find someone like you?
Who knew that we'd start out as friends
And find a love that's true?
Who knew the one I trusted most,
Whose wisdom had me snared,
Would love me too, would let me soar,
Would tell me that he cared?
I could have done things differently.
And, Darling, so could you,
If either one of us had known,
But apparently, who knew?
Hi J!
I though I'd read this poem because it was "new" and I wanted to return the favor of your visit. Well, it turns out that this piece describes exactly how I met my wife! Lesson learned...never give up!
This is simple and lyrical. Well constructed. You might laugh, but I can almost hear Patsy Cline singing this!
