Once I saw a butterfly.
It whispered to my ear:
‘Why don’t you talk to him? Don’t cry.
Just say you want him near.’
‘I can’t.’ I whispered in despair.
It didn’t say a thing,
But it just took away with care
My teardrops on its wing.
I know, that day you saw it too,
But you just left it go.
It had to show my pain to you,
But you will never know.
Next day, the wind has touched my hand
And simply asked me: ‘Why?
Why won’t you make him understand?
Why do you want to cry?’
The words are nothing for my love.
It is too much to say.
The wind caressed the clouds above
And simply went away.
That day it brought you autumn leaves.
It only tried to show:
No matter what, my feeling lives,
But you will never know.
Bittersweet thoughts and feelings. I can identify with what you express via your verses here, Ana. Thank you. Love and best wishes,
Regis
Once I saw a blue bird.
It whispered to my ear,
‘Why don’t you read Ana's poems?
Just say you love the poem.’
