Forget You

Folder:

I tried to forget you

but found you inside

the pit of my dreams

the echoes of lies.

The loss of my feelings

of bitter and spite

I found you within me

still night after night.

Pounding my heartstrings

with hate hardened hands

"you'll never forget me"

always you're demand.

The darkness surrounding

would drown out my cries

"why won't you leave me!"

my eyes running dry.

I tried to forget you

you simply won't go

how much can I take

soon enough I will know.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Sometimes the memories won't leave you, no matter how badly you wish they would.

Jack G.'s picture

This is a great poem that touched me, actually I feel this way about someone and she's not around anymore, and for years now, I realized how I truely feel about her, and because I know, her memory ingrained in my mind won't leave me,
thank you for making such a great poem,
believe it or not, it just made my day,
